How to Join a Google Meet Meeting (Phone or Computer)
Follow these simple steps to download Google Meet on your phone or accept an invitation from your computer to join the meeting:
Step 1: Joining a Google Meet Meeting from Your Phone
1. Download the Google Meet App
For iPhone (App Store) or Android (Google Play Store):
Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
Search for Google Meet.
Tap Download or Install.
Once installed, open the Google Meet app.
2. Sign in to Google Meet
Open the app and sign in with your Google account (if you don’t have one, tap Create account to set one up).
3. Join the Meeting
Option A: Using a Meeting Link from Email or Message
Open the email or message with the Google Meet invite.
Tap the meeting link (it will look like: meet.google.com/xxx-xxxx-xxx).
The Google Meet app will open and take you to the meeting.
Tap Join to enter the meeting.
Option B: Entering a Meeting Code Manually
Open the Google Meet app.
Tap Enter a code on the home screen.
Type the meeting code (usually in the format: xxx-xxxx-xxx) given by the meeting organizer.
Tap Join.
Step 2: Joining a Google Meet Meeting from Your Computer
1. Open the Google Meet Invitation
Check your email inbox for the Google Meet invitation from the meeting organizer.
You will see an invitation email with a Join with Google Meet link.
2. Click the Meeting Link
In the invitation, click on the Join Google Meet link. This will open your web browser.
3. Allow Access to Microphone and Camera
When prompted, allow Google Meet to use your microphone and camera so you can be heard and seen in the meeting.
4. Click ‘Join’
Once Google Meet opens in your browser, click Join now to enter the meeting.
Step 3: Controls During the Meeting
Microphone: To mute/unmute, tap the microphone icon.
Camera: To turn your camera on or off, tap the camera icon.
Leave Meeting: Tap or click the red End Call button to leave the meeting when finished.
